Quito’s old town is a truly fascinating place. Full of history and charming architecture. Travelling as a solo female, I had arranged a hotel pick up when I arrived. The driver was polite and amicable. I managed to converse with him in my limited Spanish during the journey from the airport to the old town.

Cartagena
Located in the Caribbean coast, Cartagena and its old town is a delight to explore.
The walled old town city is a must to explore on foot. Wherever you turn there is something which will stop you on your track as its streets are picturesque and rich with colonial history built by the Spanish between 16th and 18th centuries.
Mansions with studded wooden doors giving you glimpses of tranquil courtyards. Colourful walls with pink bougainvillea flowers. These tropical climbers brighten and compliments the facades during the summer months. Beautiful buildings with balconies and churches. Hawkers selling street food and tropical fruits.
