The White Crater a.k.a Kawah Putih in Indonesian is located in West Java about 50 kilometres south of Bandung. It is Indonesia's third largest city by the number of population. Getting to White Crater took a little while. Our driver skilfully navigated the busy narrow roads through small towns and the windy uphill roads. Beautiful views of the countryside. Then three hours later we arrived.
After climbing up and down a number of steps I could see the White Crater with its whitish green colour. The smell of sulphur is strong. Visitors have been warned not to spend more than 15 minutes here to avoid any health implications. I stood there taking in the view. The view is out of this world. It's a beautiful and fascinating place.
