West Wittering beach is one of those beaches I’ve been wanting to visit for a while. It’s located roughly 13 kilometres from Chichester in West Sussex. The beach is managed by the National Trust since it was gifted by the West Sussex County council to the trust in 1960s.
The beach forms part of the sand dune spit which covers an area of about 10 hectares. The sand dunes and grass along with the salt marsh contain habitats of coastal flora and fauna. Birds also popular in this area particularly during the migration season in the winter months.
The West Wittering area is easily accessible by cars and public transport. There are regular bus services from Chichester.
