Bocagrande, one of the neighbourhoods in Cartagena is a stretch of long, sandy beaches where its promenade by the sea is dotted with palm trees.
I spent my first evening in Cartagena walking along this part of town where hotels, restaurants and casinos occupy the high rise buildings overlooking the Caribbean Sea. It was a balmy evening with a gentle breeze and the sunset view did not disappoint. Many locals were on the beach soaking the sun and taking the last dip in the sea.
