Located in the Caribbean coast, Cartagena and its old town is a delight to explore.
The walled old town city is a must to explore on foot. Wherever you turn there is something which will stop you on your track as its streets are picturesque and rich with colonial history built by the Spanish between 16th and 18th centuries.
Mansions with studded wooden doors giving you glimpses of tranquil courtyards. Colourful walls with pink bougainvillea flowers. These tropical climbers brighten and compliments the facades during the summer months. Beautiful buildings with balconies and churches. Hawkers selling street food and tropical fruits.

I had the most amazing stay in this boutique hotel in Chapinero Alto, one of the neighbourhoods in Bogota. The area is full of restaurants, cafes and galleries. The hotel only has four rooms, but each is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. It has a cafe/bar and a restaurant on the ground floor. The cafe/bar also doubles as a lounge area for hotel guests.
